Is the download a virus?
Checked 2026-10-06. Version on the official page that day: 1.0.1.
I did not reproduce an antivirus detection. The developer had not posted a virus statement as of 6 October 2026. A flag on a random reupload is a different problem.
What you are actually downloading
From the download page: Helping-Your-Boyfriend-PC-1.0.1.zip, the Mac zip, and the Android apk, all from zieelane.itch.io. There is no setup.exe in that list. If a site offers an installer, a “browser fix,” or a cracked copy, that file is not the one the developer posted.
If your antivirus says something
I am not going to walk through how to turn a scanner off. The check that matters is the source. Open the official page, compare the file name with the 1.0.1 names above, and decide from there. Windows and other tools keep their own quarantine history if you need to see what was blocked. Comments are not a lab report: nobody in the sample named a specific detection signature, and the developer had not replied.
What I checked
I searched the official page and both devlog posts for the word virus and did not find it. The files themselves are a Windows zip, a Mac zip, and an Android apk, which is the shape of download that often gets a generic warning. Players on the itch.io comments describe that warning as common for itch.io games and tell each other to stick to the official button. A TikTok topic page about a Windows virus warning exists, but the clip text did not load for me, so I am not quoting it.
